The Turrach Heights ski resort is nestled in the Nock Mountains at an altitude of over 1,700m and, as such, is extremely snowy, guaranteeing the ultimate winter experience. The ski season generally runs from November to the beginning of May. Apart from the glaciers, this makes the Turrach one of the snow-surest ski regions in the Eastern Alps. Guests enjoy the 38km of varied ski runs that are comfortably accessible via 14 ski lifts that reach an altitude of over 2,200m.
The local mountain is the Kornock with an altitude of 2,205m. The most beautiful lift installations are to be found on its eastern slope – the Kornock lift and the Panorama lift. The Kornock chairlift’s station in the valley lies directly at the heart of the resort and is also operated during the summer months for mountain hikers. On the northern slope of the Turrach Heights there is a demanding FIS ski run into the Turrach valley, whilst in the eastern and northern flanks there are ski runs of easy to medium difficulty.
You can ski around the entire Turrach by following the particularly attractive ‘Turrach Heights Circuit’. Idyllic cross-country ski runs, winter hiking paths and walking trails are next to the ski pistes; ice-skating, night sledding, snowshoe hiking and ski tours are amongst the best-loved activities. The latest attraction is the Nocky thunderbolt, a highly modern and spectacular all-year and all-weather railway that provides literally breathtaking views in all senses of the word, both during the winter and the summer.
